Yu Televentures launched its Yuphoria smartphone in the Indian market earlier this week. The Yuphoria is priced at Rs. 6,999 and will be available exclusively on Amazon India via flash sales starting 28th May 2015 and registrations for the same are now open.
It will compete with the likes of Xiaomi Redmi 2 and Lenovo A6000 Plus which are equipped with nearly similar specs. Design & Display
Yu Yuphoria enclosed in a metal frame and features a removable plastic back. Lenovo A6000 Plus is made out of premium looking plastic. Yuphoria and A6000 Plus pack a 5 inch HD IPS with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution and 294 ppi pixel density. Redmi 2 also comes with a plastic body and features a smaller 4.7 inch HD IPS display with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution and 312 ppi pixel density.
Processor & RAM
This round is a tie as all the three smartphones are powered by a 1.2GHz Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor paired with Adreno 306 GPU. However Yuphoria performs slightly better since it is using a 64-bit operating system. The Yuphoria and Lenovo A6000 pack 2GB of RAM and Redmi 2 lags behind with 1GB of RAM.
Operating System
The Yu Yuphoria runs Android 5.0 Lollipop based Cyaonogen OS 12 while the other two phones run Android 4.4 KitKat operating system wrapped under their respective UI’s.
Camera
All three phones pack an 8 mega pixel rear camera but they differ in front facing cameras. Yu Yuphoria sports a 5 mega pixel secondary camera as compared to 2 mega pixel camera of other two rivals.
Storage
The Yu Yuphoria and Lenovo A6000 Plus house 16GB of inbuilt storage whereas Xiaomi Redmi 2 comes with 8 GB of inbuitl storage. All three phones support external microSD cards.
Battery & Connectivity
The Lenovo A6000 Plus is backed up by a 2300mAh battery followed by Yu Yuphoria with 2230mAh battery and then the Redmi 2 which comes with 2200mAh battery. Yu Yuphoria and Redmi 2 feature quick charge technology as well.
All the three phones come with dual-SIM support and offer 4G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth as connectivity options. On Yuphoria and Redmi 2, any of the two-SIM slots can be used for 4G while on Lenovo A6000 Plus, only SIM 1 slot can be used for that purpose.
Price
The Yuphoria and Redmi 2 are priced at Rs. 6,999 and the Lenovo A6000 Plus is priced at Rs. 7,499.
Additional Features
Redmi 2 comes with USB OTG support and LED notification below home button which the other two phones lack.
Verdict
Lenovo A6000 Plus carries a higher price tag but comes with least number of sensors which could be a disappointment for gamers. Redmi 2 comes with LED notification and USB OTG feature but lags behind with 1GB of RAM. Yuphoria scores higher on benchmarks scores, packs 64-bit Lollipop OS and better front facing camera. If you are looking for big display, great performance, premium design and good camera quality, then you should go for Yuphoria. Yuphoria is a great buy and value for money followed by Lenovo A6000 and lastly the Redmi 2.
