YU To Launch New Flagship Smartphone This Month

YU Televentures is gearing up for the launch of its new flagship smartphone in India, this month. YU has shared a teaser video on Twitter that shows company’s founder Rahul Sharma breaking a model of a ship though a hammer. The video has the tagline- “Redefining Flagship. This month…”

The video doesn’t reveal any details about specifications and features of YU’s upcoming flagship smartphone. However, it hints that the phone will feature powerful specs to break other flagship smartphone in the market.

“Post the YUTOPIA launch, we have been working at a different clock speed and momentum to break all that’s conventional and boring.

Excited to tell you all that our next device is round the corner and its nothing short of Incredible. It’s insanely beautiful and it will break some hearts. It will break records, it will break the conventional, it will break the rules…WAIT, it will break the flagships,” said Rahul Sharma on YU’s official Forum.

Although the company has not revealed the specs of its forthcoming smartphone, rumors suggest that it could be the YU5530 smartphone. The YU5530 recently surfaced on benchmarking website- GeekBench.

As per the listing, the YU5530 will be powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 (MT6755M) processor clocked at 1.8GHz coupled with 4GB of RAM. It will run Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system and is expected to come with Cyanogen OS, although there is no mention of it in the listing. The single-core score and multi-core scores of the device are 816 and 3059 respectively.
