The Sony Xperia 1 Professional Edition looks identical to the Sony Xperia 1. However, it comes with an updated display. The new variant also comes with support for the LAN Ethernet connection via the USB Type-C port.
Additionally, Sony has added a pre-installed Imaging Edge Mobile app that allows you to wirelessly transfer content from Sony cameras to the smartphone.
The Transfer and Tagging add-on feature allows users to add tags and voice captions to photos. Other key specs and features (triple rear cameras, a Snapdragon 855 SoC, 3,330mAh battery, etc) remain the same.

The new smartphone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor and 6GB RAM. The 128GB internal storage can be further expanded via a microSD card (up to 512GB).
The 3,300mAh battery supports Xperia Adaptive Charging. It also comes with a Smart Stamina Mode.
Camera
On the back, the Sony Xperia 1 Professional Edition sports a triple camera setup with a 12MP Exmor RS (f/1.6 aperture, 78-degree lens), a 12MP wide-angle lens (f/2.4, 135-degree Feild of View), and a 12MP telephoto lens (f/2.4, 45-degree FoV, 2x optical zoom).
The camera setup also offers OIS (optical image stabilization) support for photos and hybrid OIS/ EIS (electronic image stabilization) support for videos.
For selfies and video calling, the Xperia smartphone sports an 8-megapixel front camera with an f/2.0 aperture and 84-degree wide-angle lens.

The dual-SIM smartphone features a 6.5-inch 4K HDR (1644 x 3840 pixels) OLED CinemaWide display with a 21:9 aspect ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection.
The display panel has a wide color space ITU-R BT.2020 and DCI-P3 with Illuminant D65. It also supports 10-bit tonal gradation and offers Master Monitor color reproduction.

Sales start on October 25. As of now, there is no information about the Indian price or launch date.
