Beijing-based electronics company Xiaomi looks ready to launch their latest budget smartphone, the Redmi S2. The Xiaomi Redmi S2 launch has been teased by the company to be on 10th May 2018. In the teaser, a man can be seen going down into a building supposedly owned by Suning Tesco. The person descends with a parachute with ‘S’ word written in large on the parachute.

Previous leaks and rumors prior to the Xiaomi Redmi S2 launch speculations suggest that the smartphone will be similar to the Redmi Note 5 Pro and Mi 6X.

The information regarding this teaser was uploaded by Xiaomi in a post on Weibo. Earlier the company had posted another teaser that showed off the letter ‘S’ in red and blue paint. The smartphone has also been spotted in the opening of a Mi Store in the Czech Republic.

The Czech photo shows a blurry Redmi S2 with its specifications mentioned below.

The photograph only shows the front side of the phone. The photo reveals that the bezels are minimum. It is seen that the 3.5mm audio jack will be on the top edge of the device.

According to the revealed specifications, the Redmi S2 will run MIUI 9 based on Android Oreo. The smartphone will be built with a 5.99-inch HD+ (720×1440 pixel) display. The display will have an 18:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone will be powered by a Snapdragon 625 SoC processor. It will be equipped with a dual camera setup at the rear. It will be a 12-megapixel sensor and a 5-megapixel sensor. The front camera will be at 16-megapixel resolution. Moreover, the battery will be powered at 3,080mAh.
