It has already been reported widely that Xiaomi is planning to launch Redmi S2, at least in India and China. Now the full specifications of the smartphone have been revealed by @FunkyHuawei via XDA Developers. According to the obtained information, the device will sport a rear dual-camera setup and Face Unlock feature.

According to the revealed information, the Redmi S2 will be an entry-level smartphone based on its resolution and system-on-chip.
Redmi S2 Specifications
The smartphone will be built on an 18:9, 1440×720 LCD display. The actual size of the display is not yet known. The Redmi S2 will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625– the same chip found in Redmi Note 5 and Redmi 5 Plus. In terms of storage, there will be a 16GB variant. It is not yet known if there will be other variant models. It will also have a microSD card slot. The RAM specifications are not yet known. It is highly likely, that the device will have a 2GB or 3GB RAM.

In the camera department, the smartphone will feature a rear dual-camera setup. It will either sport the 12MP Sony IMX486 or 12MP OmniVision OV12A10 sensor as its primary sensor. The secondary sensor will be the 5MP Samsung S5K5E8. On the front, there will be a 5MP Samsung S5K5E8 sensor. The camera will be equipped with features are Face Unlock, EIS and Portrait Mode.
In the power department, the Xiaomi smartphone will be backed by a 3,080mAh battery pack. Equipped with the efficient Snapdragon 625 and low-resolution display, the smartphone will last a full day or two on a single charge. It will run Android 8.1 Oreo which will be optimized, so applications won’t create much memory or battery problems.

The Redmi S2 will at least launch in India and China. It has been revealed that the firmware mentions an Indian and Chinese variant of this device. Right now, currently all eyes will on the 25th April 2018 launch of the Mi 6X device. It will arrive in India later, named as Mi A2.
