Xiaomi has launched a refreshed variant of Redmi Note 4G, called the Redmi Note Prime in India. Priced at Rs. 8,499, the device has a lot of features to offer. In the Indian market, it will compete with the likes of Yu Yureka Plus, Lenovo K3 Note and Coolpad Note 3.

Processor & RAM

Xiaomi Redmi Note Prime and Yu Yureka Plus are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 and Snapdragon 615 chipsets respectively whereas the Lenovo K3 Note and Coolpad Note 3 draw power from MediaTek MT6572 and MediaTek MT6753 chipsets respectively. While Coolpad Note 3 houses 3GB of RAM, other three smartphones pack 2GB of RAM.

Software

Redmi Note Prime runs Android 4.4 KitKat with MIUI 7. All other smartphones run Android Lollipop operating system wrapped under their respective UI’s.

Display

While all four smartphones feature 5.5-inch display, there is a difference in screen resolution. The Yureka Plus and Lenovo K3 Note flaunt full HD display with 1920×1080 pixels resolution. Other two smartphones come with HD screens with 1280×720 pixels resolution.

Camera

This round is a tie. All the four smartphones sport a 13 mega pixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5 mega pixel front facing camera.

Storage

On storage front again, all four smartphones house 16GB of internal memory with microSD card support for expandable storage. The Coolpad Note 3 supports expandable storage up to 64GB while other three smartphones support 32GB of expandable storage.

Battery

Xiaomi Redmi Note Prime is fueled by a large 3100mAh battery, followed by Lenovo K3 Note and Coolpad Note 3 with 3000mAh battery and lastly Yu Yureka Plus with 2500mAh battery.

Additional Features

Coolpad Note 3 boasts of a fingerprint sensor for additional security. All other smartphones in this comparison lack fingerprint sensor.

Price

Xiaomi Redmi Note Prime carries the lowest price tag of Rs. 8,499, followed by Yu Yureka Plus and Coolpad Note 3 with Rs. 8,999 price tag. The Lenovo K3 Note is priced at Rs. 9,999.

Verdict

While specifications of all the four smartphones are closely matched, the choice of smartphone certainly depends on the features that you need. If you are looking for a smartphone with full HD display, then you should go for Yureka Plus and Lenovo K3 Note. If you are looking for a device with massive battery, then all phones except Yureka Plus will serve your need. Lastly, if your requirement is more RAM and fingerprint sensor for additional security, then Coolpad Note 3 is the winner.
