Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi seems to be aiming at proper expansion in its smartphone sector. A leaked list of upcoming Xiaomi smartphones has surfaced online which suggests the same. An EEC (Eurasian Economic Commission) report has been spotted online by KillerFeatures. It reveals a number of upcoming Xiaomi handsets like Mi 7 and Redmi Note 6. Among the mentioned phones, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 leak has created the most fanfare among smartphone lovers.
EEC is a body for regulation in countries like Russia, Belarus, and Armenia etc. The list also includes smartphones such as Mi Mix 2S and Redmi S2; which have already been launched in some markets.
As per the Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 leak (and other listed devices too), the company is speculated to launch a new Mi S-series lineup (Mi S1, Mi S2, and Mi S3) with Redmi S1 and S3. The post doesn’t mention anything about a Mi Mix 3 smartphone.
The Redmi Note 6 leak EEC listing also reveals devices like Redmi A1 and A2. It has also named the successors of the Note series.
The listing was apparently filed on 11th May 2018. It is valid up to 31st December 2023. This means that some of the devices may not launch in 2018. It is highly probable that the Mi Mix 3S won’t be launched this year. The Redmi Note 6 might be unveiled this year or next year.
Other Developments
Recently even the Mi 7 specifications were leaked online in Weibo. The Xiaomi Mi 7 specifications leak display the design of both the front and back side of the device. One of the images also shows the About page of the device. The Mi 7 looks like the iPhone X in the leaked images. In the images, it is seen that the smartphone will have a wide notch on the top of the display. The phone will have minimum bezels, while the one on the bottom will be thick. The notch looks wider than the one in iPhone X. It makes space for the selfie shooter and proximity sensor. The notch might have a facial recognition feature.
In the images, the rear panel has a dual-rear camera module. The sensors are separated by a flash. There is a rear mounted fingerprint sensor next to the camera. The fingerprint sensor is seen with a circular housing. There is also a Xiaomi branding.
