The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro is now available in India at Rs 12,999 for the 4GB RAM variant. On the other hand, the 6GB RAM model has received a price cut worth Rs 2,000. It is now available at Rs 13,999. The mid-range smartphone was launched in February last year at Rs 13,999 for the 4GB RAM variant.

The Redmi Note 5 Pro features a 5.99-inch display with Full HD+ resolution (2160 x 1080 pixels), Corning Gorilla Glass and 18:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor (it was rumored to come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 SoC or Snapdragon 636 SoC). The internal storage can be further expanded via a micro SD card (up to 128GB). It is backed by a 4,000mAh non-removable battery with Quick Charge 3.0 technology.
On the camera front, the Redmi Note 5 features a dual camera setup with AI features and EIS (electronic image stabilization) for videos. It comes with a 20-megapixel front camera with Sony IMX 376 sensor and Beautify 4.0. Both cameras come with LED flash. The company claims that the Redmi Note 5 Pro is better than that of iPhone X and Google Pixel 2 XL.

The Redmi Note 5 Pro comes in multiple color options – Black, Gold, Rose Gold and Lake Blue. A fingerprint sensor is placed on the back. While the screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass coating, a dual pyrolytic graphite sheet keeps the phone cool during heavy usage.
The new smartphone runs Android 8.0 Oreo operating system with MIUI 9 on top. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, NFC, GPS, USB Type-C, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, GLONASS, dual-SIM support, and a 3.5mm audio jack. The Face Unlock feature will be added via an OTA update later this month.
