The Honor 7S is priced in India at Rs 6,999. It is being touted as one of the cheapest smartphones with an 18:9 display. On the other hand, the Redmi 5A is priced at Rs 5,999 for the 2GB RAM variant. The 3GB RAM variant of the Xiaomi handset costs Rs 6,999.

The Honor 7S is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6739 processor and 2GB RAM. The 16GB internal storage can be further expandable via a microSD card (up to 256GB). On the other hand, the Redmi 5A is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 SoC. It comes in two RAM/ storage variants – 2GB RAM/ 16GB internal storage and 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage.
In the power department, there’s isn’t much difference between the two devices. While the Xiaomi handset is backed by a 3000mAh battery, the Honor smartphone comes with a 3020mAh battery.
Camera
Both the Xiaomi Redmi 5A and Honor 7S feature a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front snapper. However, the selfie cam on Honor 7S also supports face unlock feature.

Features
While the Redmi 5A runs on Android 7.1.2 Nougat OS with MIUI skin on top, the Honor 7S runs Android 8.1 Oreo OS with EMUI 8.0 skin on top. Both devices feature connectivity options.
Additional features on Redmi 5A include a Smart assistant, Smart app launcher, Image search, Quick reply and notification management, new Home screen enhancements, Lock screen enhancements, and split-screen multitasking.
Meanwhile, the Honor 7S comes with a split screen feature alongside ‘tap to wake’, three-finger swipe to screenshot, phone clone and eye protection mode. Honor is also touting a louder earpiece for clearer voice calls.
Design & Display
In terms of design, the Xiaomi smartphone features a metal-like matte texture and rounded corners for a comfortable grip. It measures 140.4 x 70.1 x 8.4mm and weighs only 137 grams. On the other hand, the Honor 7S measures 146.5 x 70.9 x 8.3mm and weighs 142 grams. The compact device also comes with narrow bezels. The rear panel uses a combination of plastic and metal.
The Honor 7S sports a 5.45-inch HD+ 18:9 display, whereas the Redmi 5A comes with regular 5.0-inch HD display.
