Xiaomi unveiled its Mi VR Play headset in China back in August 2016. Now the device has finally been launched in India. Xiaomi’s Vice President Hugo Barra, announced the price and availability details of the Xiaomi Mi VR Play headset at the Mi Pop event which was held on December 11. Priced at Rs. 999, Xiaomi’s latest headset will go on sale in India via mi.com. It will be available starting December 21 at 12:00 PM.
The main highlight of the Mi VR Play is its zipper design to prevent smartphone from falling. The headset is made with Lycra (nylon + spandex) that offers long lasting comfort. The two-way zipper design offers better compatibility and grip for smartphones.
It comes with two openings at the front for positioning adjustments of the smartphones and ventilation. The headset features two anti-glare lenses on the inside and a navigation button on the top. It measures 201x107x91 mm and sports non-slip pads on the inside that prevent accidental pressing of buttons while using the headset. The device is compatible with smartphones with screen sizes ranging between 4.7-inch to 5.7-inch. It is Google Cardboard compatible and lets users experience virtual reality.
The company has also launched its live streaming app, called the Mi Live. The app is available to download for free from Google Play store. Talking about the Mi Live app, Xiaomi said, “Mi Live is our livestream app where you can share your daily thoughts, music talents, fitness tips, and more with the world.
