Chinese electronics and software company Xiaomi revealed the launch of internet services, Mi Music and Mi Video in India on 3rd May 2018. Xiaomi has also tied up with Hungama for Mi Music. The partnership will result in more than 10 million tracks to users for free. The app has support for 13 Indian languages, including Bengali and Hindi.
Mi Music provides a Dynamic Lyrics feature to users interested in karaoke.

Mi Music will provide tough competition to Google Play Music. Xiaomi has permitted users to stream music from Hungama. Users can even play downloaded music. Like PatchWall OS which runs on Xiaomi’s smart televisions, the home screen will sport music from different albums. The app will have new features like themes, music videos, more tracks, personalized recommendations soon. Xiaomi VP Manu Kumar Jain mentioned in a tweet that Mi Music has seven million active users daily. The company has also claimed that the app falls under the category of most used apps.

Mi Music is available to users from today onwardsβ 3rd May 2018. Earlier in 2016, the Asian company had invested 25 million dollars in Hungama.

Mi Video will permit users to cast videos to any smart television through DLNA and Miracast wireless technologies. The app will also support Picture in Picture mode. It lets users watch videos on the Mi Video app and uses other applications at the same time itself. Mi Video will support 15 Indian languages. It will also come with personalized recommendations.

Mi Video will let users play downloaded videos too. The app has an enhanced player for good user experience. The app supports quick gestures too. Around mid-May 2018, a stable version of the app will be launched. It will also give users control over playback speed.

According to the company, Mi Video will deliver more than 5000,000+ hours of content. Xiaomi has teamed up with Voot, ZEE5 etc. The company has plans to get more partners in the future. The company also mentioned that the Mi Video has seen a nice user growth.
