Alongside Mi Note 2, Xiaomi has also showcased its concept smartphone- Xiaomi Mi Mix, in China. The talking point of this phone is its design. It features an edge-less display and doesn’t have a bezel above the screen. Wondering where are the sensors, front camera and the earpiece? The front camera is cleverly located on the bottom and the sensors are placed behind the display.
With no earpiece onboard, next question that would arise is how you would be able to listen to a call using this phone. The Mi Mix features ‘piezoelectric ceramic acoustic technology’ that converts electrical signals into mechanical energy and lets users listen to a call without an earpiece. The phone also comes with an ultrasonic proximity sensor behind the display that dims the light when the phone is held against user’s face. The device is made entirely with ceramic and it has been designed by a renowned designer- Phillipe Starck.
