Xiaomi has launched its much-awaited Mi Mix 3 smartphone in the Chinese market. The 5G handset comes with dual cameras on the front and back (front camera setup is retractable). The Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 is priced at 3299 yuan (approx Rs 34,700) for the 6GB RAM/ 128GB storage variant. While the 8GB RAM/ 128GB storage model costs 3599 yuan (approx Rs 37,900), the 8GB RAM/ 256GB storage variant comes with a price tag of 3999 yuan (approx Rs 42,200).
A ‘Forbidden City Palace Museum’ special edition variant (with 10GB RAM and 256GB storage) is priced at 4999 yuan (approx Rs 52,700). As of now, there is no information about the Indian price or launch date.

The Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 sports a 6.39-inch AMOLED display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio and a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor along with 6GB/ 8GB/ 10GB RAM and 128GB/ 256GB internal storage.
In terms of optics, the new smartphone sports dual cameras on the front and back. The front camera module is retractable. It uses a 24MP primary sensor and a 2MP secondary sensor. Whereas the rear camera setup combines a two 12MP sensors. Camera features include slow-motion video recording at 960 fps and Artificial Intelligence (AI) features.
The Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 runs MIUI 10 out of the box and features a hardware button (on the left side) for the Xiao AI assistant. A fingerprint sensor is placed on the back. The 5G smartphone supports 10W wireless charging.

The Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 is the first device to come with 10GB RAM. Oppo is also expected to bring a 10GB RAM variant of Find X in the coming months. Overall, the new handset brings major upgrades over its processors.
The Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S was launched in March this year. It sports a 5.99-inch display with full-HD+ (1080 x 2160 pixels) resolution, a pixel density of 403ppi, and 18:9 aspect ratio. It also supports the DCI-P3 color gamut. The new handset is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor along with Adreno 630 GPU and 6GB/ 8GB LPDDR4X RAM. The 3400mAh battery comes with Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging support.
In terms of optics, the new smartphone features a vertically-aligned dual rear camera setup. It uses two 12-megapixel sensors with 1.4-micron pixels (Sony IMX363 primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture, wide-angle lens and four-axis OIS + telephoto lens with a f/2.4 aperture and optical zoom). The company is touting the dual-core PDAF on the rear camera.
