It was pretty surprising for the Indian Android geeks last year when Chinese electronics and software company Xiaomi released the Mi A1 in India– a stock Android smartphone. Earlier, the company had launched it in China, with the Mi 5X namesake. The device set expectations high, and now the Xiaomi Mi A2 (Mi 6X) will be launched in China, on 25th April 2018. Android and Xiaomi fans are excited about this upcoming device and have been treated to a teaser by a leaked promotional video.
The smartphone was leaked in a new promotional video that has been published on YouTube by an unverified source. It is not from Xiaomi’s official handle. In the teaser, the smartphone looks a lot like the Redmi Note 5 Pro.
The Redmi Note 5 Pro has only been launched in India, so this leaked device is speculated to be launched as the Xiaomi Mi 6X in China. Eventually, it is predicted to be launched in India with the Mi A2 name. It will operate on Android One. It is being speculated that the company will sell the Redmi Note 5 in India, as Mi A2. The smartphone is expected to be a big hit among Indian users due to its terrific camera setup.

In the footage, the camera design looks just like the Redmi Note 5 Pro and is expected to be a dual-lens setup. The lens will consist of a 12-megapixel sensor and a 20-megapixel sensor. Both are predicted to be backed by an aperture of f/1.8. The front camera is expected to be a 20-megapixel sensor with an aperture of f/2.2.
The smartphone is reported to be powered by a Snapdragon 660 chipset, which will clock at 2.0GHz. It is expected to come in three variants– 4GB RAM and 32GB storage, 6GB RAM and 64GB storage, 6GB RAM and 128GB storage.

The Xiaomi Mi A2 is speculated to sport a 5.99-inch display backed by a FullHD+ resolution. The battery is a little low and is expected to feature a 2,910mAh battery pack. The smartphone lacks a 3.5mm headphone jack, which is a little disappointing. The smartphone is expected to sport a USB Type-C.
The Mi A1 is expected to be discontinued in India, even though it isn’t official yet. It was launched at a price of Rs. 14,999. Moreover, it is currently available on Flipkart for Rs. 13,999, but is listed as out-of-stock.
