The Xiaomi Mi A1 features a 5.5-inch display with full HD (1080×1920 pixels) resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass protection. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor (seen on Redmi Note 4) and 4GB RAM. The 64GB internal storage can be further expanded via a microSD card (up to 128GB). The new handset is backed by a 3,080mAh battery.
On the camera front, the new handset comes with a dual camera setup which allows you to capture a nice bokeh effect. It combines a 12-megapixel 26mm wide-angle lens with a 12-megapixel 50mm telephoto lens (similar to iPhone 7 Plus). It comes with 2X optical zoom, 1.25um pixels, a special Portrait mode, and a Beautify mode. The latest handset also comes with a 5-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calling. The Xiaomi Mi A1 runs Google-powered Android One (Android 7.1 Nougat) operating system. However, it will come pre-installed with Mi Remote app and Mi Store app. Google promises that the Mi A1 will get the Android 8.0 Oreo update by the year-end.
The new handset features a full metal body design with 2.5D curved glass and a special anti-fingerprint coating on the back. A fingerprint scanner is also placed on the back side. It comes in Black, Gold, and Rose Gold color options.
