The Xiaomi Mi 5X is priced at 1499 RMB (approx Rs 14,300) in China. Apparently, the hugely awaited device has received more than 100,000 registrations for the first flash sale.
Xiaomi has confirmed that the new device will be launched in India next month. The confirmation comes from the Xiaomi India’s managing director who mentioned the shared the news via Twitter. “Can’t wait for you guys to check out Xiaomi’s first dual-camera phone in India! Coming next month!”, stated Manu Kumar Jain, managing director, Xiaomi India.

The Xiaomi Mi 5X sports a 5.5-inch LTPS display with full-HD (1080 x 1920 pixels) resolution. It is powered by a 2.0GHz 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor along with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage (expandable).
On the camera front, it sports a dual rear camera (12-megapixel wide-angle with 1.25-micron pixel sensor and f/2.2 aperture + 12-megapixel telephoto with 1-micron pixel sensor and f/2.6 aperture) with a dual-tone LED flash. There is also a 5-megapixel front camera with real-time beautification for selfies and video calling. The new device is backed by a 3,080mAh non-removable Li-Ion battery with Quick Charging support.

The Xiaomi Mi 5X runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system with MIUI 9 on top. The MIUI 9 is the latest version of Xiaomi’s popular Android skin. It brings a redesigned interface. Selected Xiaomi devices will receive the MIUI 9 by August 16. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, 3.5mm headphone jack and a micro USB Type-C port.
In terms of design, the new handset looks like an iPhone 7 Plus clone. The curved metal unibody handset is only 7.3mm thick and weighs 165grams. The handset features a horizontally placed dual-lens camera on the top left along with the Dual-LED flash module. It comes in Black, Gold and Pink color options. Sensors on the device include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, infrared, magnetometer, and proximity sensor.
Additionally, the Xiaomi Mi 5X offers a high-quality audio output with DHS Audio Calibration Algorithm and a standalone audio amplifier.
