Chinese tech company Vivo has quietly released its Y83 budget smartphone in India. The handset is built with a FullView display with an iPhone X-like notch. The Vivo Y83 is being sold at a price of Rs. 14,990 (4GB RAM+32GB internal storage variant).
Vivo Y83 was earlier launched in China (64GB internal storage) for CNY 1,498. In Indian currency, it is approximately Rs. 15,800.
The Vivo Y83 Indian release was revealed by Mumbai-based retailed Mahesh Telecom on 31st May 2018 through a tweet.

The handset’s retail box mentions that the Vivo Y83 is a part of the ‘Make in India’ initiative.
Vivo Y83 Specifications
Vivo Y83 is a dual-SIM supported smartphone. It runs FunTouch OS 4.0 on top of Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box. The smartphone is built with a 6.22-inch HD+ (720×1520 pixels) FullView 2.0 IPS display with a 19:9 aspect ratio. It has a display notch with an 88% screen-to-body ratio.
The smartphone is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P20 SoC paired with 4GB RAM.
In terms of optics, the smartphone sports a 13-megapixel rear camera sensor with an LED flash and f/2.2 aperture. Up front, it has an 8-megapixel selfie shooter with Face Access. The camera has AI Face beauty, portrait mode, live photo, and group selfie.
In the storage department, the smartphone is built with 32GB inbuilt storage. It is expandable via microSD card (up to 256GB). The smartphone is equipped with a 3260mAh battery.
Vivo Y83 also has Face Access, Smart split, Game Mode 2.0, app clone etc. The handset also has a rear fingerprint scanner.

The Vivo X21 launched in India on 29th May 2018. The Vivo X21 is built with a 6.28-inch FHD+ (2,280×1,080) AMOLED display with an above-placed notch. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor backed with 6GB RAM. It is also packed with 128GB internal storage expandable via microSD card slot (up to 256GB). In the power department, the smartphone has a 3,200mAh battery. It also has a headphone jack.
The smartphone runs Android 8.1 (Oreo) with Funtouch OS 4.0 over the top.
In the camera department, the Vivo X21 sports a vertically-aligned dual-rear camera setup (12MP+5MP) and an LED flash. Up front, it also has a 12MP selfie shooter with face recognition compatibility.
