Vivo has announced its latest flagship smartphone- Vivo Xplay 5, at an event in China. The device has been launched in two variants- Vivo Xplay 5 Elite and Vivo Xplay 5. While the Elite is the higher-specced variant boasting massive 6GB of RAM with Snapdragon 820 SoC, the latter comes with 4GB of RAM and Snapdragon 652 chipset.

The Xplay 5 features a 5.43-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED dual curved edge display with 2560×1440 pixels resolution. It comes with Corning Gorilla Glass protection for resistance against scratches. For photography lovers, it sports a 16 mega pixel rear camera with dual LED flash, PDAF, Sony IMX298 sensor and f/2.0 aperture while there is also an 8 mega pixel front facing camera with f/2.4 aperture.
Backed up by a 3600mAh battery, it supports fast charging. On design front, the phone features full metal body with fingerprint sensor on the rear which is claimed to unlock the device in just 0.4 seconds.

Price & Availability
The Vivo Xplay 5 Elite with 6GB of RAM is priced at CNY 4288 (approximately Rs. 44,200) while the Vivo Xplay 5 with 4GB of RAM is priced at CNY 3698 (approximately Rs. 38,100). It will be available in Champagne Gold and Rose Gold color options. It will be up for pr-orders in China starting March 8 while shipping will begin from March 16. There is no word on availability of the phone in the Indian market.
