Chinese smartphone maker Vivo launched its latest smartphone X21 today– 29th May 2018– in India. The Vivo X21 is built with an in-display fingerprint scanner. The handset is priced at Rs. 35,990. The premium handset is being sold exclusively via Flipkart from 29th may 2018 onwards.
The company had presented the Vivo X21 during CES 2018. It is also Vivo’s second smartphone to sport an in-display fingerprint reader, post-Vivo X20 Plus UD.
Vivo X21 Specifications
The Vivo X21 is built with a 6.28-inch FHD+ (2,280×1,080) AMOLED display with an above-placed notch. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor backed with 6GB RAM. It is also packed with 128GB internal storage expandable via microSD card slot (up to 256GB).
In the power department, the smartphone has a 3,200mAh battery. It also has a headphone jack.
The smartphone runs Android 8.1 (Oreo) with Funtouch OS 4.0 over the top.
In the camera department, the Vivo X21 sports a vertically-aligned dual-rear camera setup (12MP+5MP) and an LED flash. Up front, it also has a 12MP selfie shooter with face recognition compatibility.

Earlier the company also revealed a Youth Edition of its Vivo V9. The customized model has been released to meet the increasing demands of their growing young and dynamic consumer base. The smartphone runs on Funtouch OS 4.0 (based on Android 8.1). The V9 Youth, powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 Octa-core facilitates smoother operation during multitasking. The device is built on a 15.51cm display which fits immaculately in a compact body. The display offers an immersive experience for watching videos and gaming. It is also equipped with the new-gen AI Face Access technology, which enables the device to be unlocked by scanning a user’s facial features.
In the camera department, the smartphone sports a dual-rear camera setup– 16-megapixel and 2-megapixel sensors. The rear camera supports the shooting of Bokeh enabled pictures. In the front, the device has a 16-megapixel camera with AI Face beauty to deliver as clear pictures.
The V9 Youth’s ‘Game Mode’ is a delight to Android gamers. It prevents distractions such as messages, calls, and alerts– providing an uninterrupted gaming experience. The phone also has a newly developed Gaming keyboard which doesn’t take up the whole screen. The octa-core processor with a 3,260mAh battery pack provides a good gaming experience for longer durations.
