Videocon has launched its Videocon Cube 3 smartphone in the Indian market. Highlight of this phone is that it comes with a ‘panic button’ which has recently been made mandatory by the government. The power button of the smartphone doubles up as a panic button that sends SOS alert to pre-set contacts during emergency.
The Cube 3 comes with SOS-Be Safe app with features such as Alert, Walk with Me and Reach on Time. Users can access these features from the status bar of the phone. It uses GPS to provide map of hospitals and police stations in the nearby area in emergency situation.
As for specifications, it is powered by a 64-bit 1.3GHz qaud-core MediaTek MT6735 processor paired with Mali-T720 GPU. It features a 5-inch HD IPS 2.5D curved glass display with 1280×720 pixels resolution and Dragon Trail glass protection.
The device houses 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory which can be expanded further using microSD card. On the camera front, it sports a 13 mega pixel primary camera with dual LED flash. There is also a 5 mega pixel front facing camera for capturing selfies and making video calls. Backed up by a 3000mAh battery, the dual SIM smartphone offers 4G with VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS as connectivity options.
