American rivals Amazon and Best Buy have tied-up to sell smart television sets built on Amazon’s very own Fire TV operating system. The partnership was announced on 18th April 2018 via an official blog post by Amazon. Amazon has revealed that they will launch more than 10 Fire TV Edition models (from Toshiba and Insignia) this year. The televisions will be available exclusively through Best Buy’s own store, Amazon’s store and its retail outlets.
Toshiba India has launched its Toshiba WT-8 Windows Tablet in India. It is powered by Intel Atom Z3735G processor and runs on Windows 8.1 operating system. It comes with an 8 inch HD multi-touch display (1280 x 800 resolution). It gets 1 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage which is expandable via microSD cars. On imaging front, this tablet comes with a 5 mega pixel primary camera with auto focus and 1.2 mega pixel front facing camera for taking selfies and video calling. It packs a 3788 mAh battery which is claimed to give 11.1 hours of usage time. It includes Wi-Fi 11b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0 as connectivity options. It weighs 385 grams and measures 62 x 132 x 9.48 mm in dimensions.
In the last three days we have read quite a lot of announcements from the CES 2014. All major technology firms have been busy unveiling products and we have busy reporting them. Coming up to the next resolution, last year we had read a lot about 4K resolution for TVs and this time we have a news for 4K on a laptop. Toshiba on January 8, 2014 has announced the first 4K resolution supported laptops Tecra W50 and the Satellite P50t which will run the new Windows 8.1 operating systems.
