Obi Alligator S454 And Obi Hornbill S551 Launched In India

The domestic mobile phone brand Obi has launched Obi Alligator S454 and Obi Hornbill S551 in India. Obi Alligator S454 smartphone is powered by 1.3 GHz MediaTek MT6582 processor and runs on Android 4.4.2 operating system. This phone features a with 4.50 inch (540×960 resolution) display and comes with 1GB RAM and 8 GB ROM (Expandable up to 32 GB via microSD card). It sports an 8 mega pixel rear camera and 2 mega pixel front facing camera. It packs a 1600 mAh battery. Dimensions of this phone are 133.00 x 66.60 x 8.20 mm. Connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, Micro-USB, 3G, GPRS/ EDGE and A-GPS.

It comes  with 5.50 inch (720×1280 resolution) display. It features 1GB RAM and 8 GB ROM (Expandable up to 32 GB via microSD card). It sports a 13 mega pixel rear camera and 5 mega pixel front facing camera. It packs a 2200 mAh battery. Dimensions of this phone are 156.00 x 76.80 x 7.90 mm.

Samsung To Launch Tizen Based Samsung Z1 Phone in India In December 2014

South Korean smartphone manufacturer Samsung will be launching its entry level low cost smartphone- Tizen based Samsung Z1 soon in December 2014. This smartphone will be available in sub $100 category which makes it around Rs. 6000/-. According to South Korea’s Maeil Business Newspaper,  Samsung is going to launch this phone on 10th December 2014 at a press conference in India. Samsung’s smartphones are based on google’s platform. The launch of Tizen operating system based smartphone will reduce the reliance of Samsung on Google Android operating systems.

Corning Gorilla Glass 4- How Much Can It Handle?

People nowadays buy expensive smartphones but due to their hectic work life they cannot pay attention to the protection of such expensive phones. Damage resistant screens are now one of the top most features that the buyers look for while buying a smartphone in the market. Corning Gorilla Glass 4 is designed to protect the screens of smartphones from breaking on being dropped or slipped. This all new glass is claimed to be two times tougher than other rival glasses. According to the company, it will survive 80 per cent of the times when it is dropped, unlike soda lime glass which breaks 100 per cent of the times.

Samsung To Reduce Number Of Smartphone Models To 30% In 2015

Wall Street Journal revealed that, the Korean technology giant and the biggest Android smartphone manufacturer, Samsung has announced that it will cut down the number of smartphone models offered by it in 2015, resulting from decline in the firm’s profits. This reduction will be around 25 to 30 per cent.

The head of the investor relations Robert Yi, Samsung, during a presentation in New York made an announcement revealing the future plans of the company. The company is going to cut down the number of smartphone offerings attributing to the stiff competition that Samsung is facing. Apple’s new release iPhone 6 with larger screen and many other smartphone offering from brands like Huawei, Lenovo etc. are a threat to Samsung.
