Obi Worldphone SF1 Goes On Sale In India, Price Starts At Rs. 11,999: Specifications & Features

Obi Worldphone made its foray into the Indian market last month with the launch of its flagship smartphone, called the Obi Worldphone SF1. The device is now available to buy exclusively from NDTV Gadgets 360. The 16GB variant of Obi Worldphone SF1 is priced at Rs. 11,999 while the 32GB variant is priced at Rs. 13,999.

To recall, Obi Worldphone was co-founded by John Sculley along with Obi CEO Neeraj Chauhan and other partners last year. The phone has been designed by San Francisco-based design studio Ammunition. The phone features a unibody design with metallic accents and floating glass display.

Obi Worldphone has announced that it is soon going to make its foray into the Indian market. To recall, Obi Worldphone was co-founded by John Sculley along with Obi CEO Neeraj Chauhan and other partners last year. The company has already launched Obi Worldphone SF1 and SJ1.5 smartphones in Vietnam and Dubai. Now it has announced its plans to enter in India this month in November 2015.

Both smartphones have been designed by San Francisco-based design studio Ammunition. Obi has partnered with Qualcomm, Dolby, Sony, Corning Incorporated, Google, MediaTek, Japan Display, Inc. and Samsung for both smartphones. Obi Mobiles, backed by ex-Apple CEO John Scully is now Obi Worldphone and has launched its two new smartphones- Obi Worldphone SF1 and SJ1.5. Both devices have been designed by San Francisco-based product studio Ammunition.

The Worldphone SF1 is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor paired with Adreno 405 GPU and runs Android 5.0.2 Lollipop operating system. Based on RAM and storage, it comes in two variants- one with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage while other variant houses 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory. It sports a 13 mega pixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5 mega pixel front facing camera with flash. Backed up by a 3000mAh battery, it measures 146x74x8mm and weighs 147 grams.

The domestic mobile phone brand Obi has launched Obi Alligator S454 and Obi Hornbill S551 in India. Obi Alligator S454 smartphone is powered by 1.3 GHz MediaTek MT6582 processor and runs on Android 4.4.2 operating system. This phone features a with 4.50 inch (540×960 resolution) display and comes with 1GB RAM and 8 GB ROM (Expandable up to 32 GB via microSD card). It sports an 8 mega pixel rear camera and 2 mega pixel front facing camera. It packs a 1600 mAh battery. Dimensions of this phone are 133.00 x 66.60 x 8.20 mm. Connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, Micro-USB, 3G, GPRS/ EDGE and A-GPS.

Obi Hornbill S551 dual SIM smartphone is powered by powered by 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582 processor, runs on Android 4.4.2 operating system. It comes with 5.50 inch (720×1280 resolution) display. It features 1GB RAM and 8 GB ROM (Expandable up to 32 GB via microSD card). It sports a 13 mega pixel rear camera and 5 mega pixel front facing camera. It packs a 2200 mAh battery. Dimensions of this phone are 156.00 x 76.80 x 7.90 mm.
