Reliance has expanded its Lyf series of smartphones with the launch of Reliance Lyf Water 8. As for specifications, it is powered by a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor paired with Adreno 405 GPU and 3GB of RAM. The phone runs Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system and features a 5-inch HD AMOLED display with 1280×720 pixels resolution.

Nextbit has launched the Ember colored variant of its cloud based smartphone, called the Nextbit Robin. It was previously available in Mint and Midnight color options only. Priced at Rs. 19,999, the Ember color variant will be available to buy exclusively from online retailer Flipkart. It is a limited edition variant and will be available till stock lasts. It is already up for grabs in the US for $299 (approximately Rs. 20,100). As for the Indian market, the Ember Robin will be available starting next week.
ZTE has launched its ZTE Blade V6 and Axon Mini smartphones in India. Both devices feature unibody metal design. The Axon Mini is the expensive of the two and comes with aircraft-grade aluminum alloy body. It also comes with a fingerprint scanner and an eye-scan sensor for additional security.
Alongside Redmi Pro smartphone, Xiaomi has launched its first ever laptop, called the Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air, in China. The device comes in two variants based on display size- 12.5-inch and 13.3-inch, both with full HD displays. Both models feature thin full metal body. The 12.5-inch variant has thickness of 12.9mm and weighs 1.07kg while the 13.3-inch variant measures 14.8mm in thickness and weighs 1.28kg. Despite featuring same 13.3-inch display size as the MacBook Air, the 13.3-inch Mi NoteBook Air is 11 percent smaller and is also slimmer than the 17mm MacBook Air.
Xiaomi has finally launched its Xiaomi Redmi Pro smartphone in China. Under the hood, it is powered by a deca-core MediaTek Helio X20 or Helio X25 processor paired with Mali-T880 GPU. On the front, it features a 5.5-inch Full HD OLED display with 1920×1080 pixels resolution and 2.5D curved glass.
BlackBerry has launched its Android based smartphone, called the BlackBerry DTEK50. Highlight of the phone is its encryption capabilities. Touted as the world’s most secure Android smartphone, it is FIPS 140-2 compliant and encrypts user’s crucial information such as personal data and business data. It also alerts users if someone is remotely accessing phone’s camera, microphone or location information.
Gionee has launched its Gionee M6 and M6 Plus smartphones in China. Highlight of these phones is that they feature an encrypted chip that is targeted at securing user’s data on the phone at hardware level. The encryption chip prevents access of hackers to user’s data and aims to help users keep the call logs, photos, documents and notes safe. Another striking feature is their massive battery capacities. The M6 and M6 Plus pack 5000mAh and 6020mAh batteries respectively.
