The Indian smartphone market is currently the most exciting market to be in and it has the maximum scope for growth in future. Not a day passes when there is not a single launch taking place and the latest arrival is the Byond P1 which is a phablet from Byond. It will join the ranks with P3 and P2. The Byond P1 has been priced at Rs.10,999 and the phablet comes with a 5.3 inch qHD screen and some decent specs, but nothing ground breaking.
The Byond P1 has a 5.3 inch IPS display unit and the processor is a 1GHz dual core processor. It has been coupled with a 1GB RAM which is good seeing the fact that most budget dual core devices come with a 512 MB RAM. It gets an internal memory of 4GB which can be expanded by a microSD card by another 32GB. The smartphone will run on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and expecting an Android 4.2 update is just a bit too optimistic.
Like other budget smartphones, it will be a dual sim smartphone. The device gets an 8 megapixel rear camera with a LED flash and there is a 1.3 megapixel front camera present as well. It gets a 2,000 mAH battery unit which we think is a bit too less seeing the fact that it has to power such a huge screen. The smartphone gets the usual set of connectivity features which include 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to ensure you remain connected.
The smartphone’s thickness stands at 9.7mm and it weighs 188 grams which is tad heavy. The smartphone will be made available in two colours, Blue and White and it is being offered with a free flip cover and a screen guard as an introductory offer. It is on sale now and will be competing with the likes of the Micromax Canvas 2 and the recently launched budget quad core droids like the Karbonn S1 and Intex Aqua Wonder 2 which retail for lower price points.
