In an official launch event held on 15th September in New Delhi, India Google has launched three smartphones from its Google Android One series. Spice Google Android One Design And Build Quality
The phone has been nicely designed with rounded edges, glossy bezels around the screen, has standard buttons placement on the right hand side of the phone.
On top of the phone you get standard 3.5 mm audio port.
On the bottom is primary mic hole and charging port on the phone. There is also an indent to open the back flap.
The buttons are nicely finished and are fairly tactile.
Under the hood there are two micro-SIM card slots, both of the slots are capable of running 3G data SIM cards. There is also a memory card slot for memory expansion. Internal memory is 4GB out of which 2.27 GB is user available memory. Also there is a 1700 mAh user removable Li-Polymer battery for superior battery life.
Rear of the phone is rubberized finish which does not attract fingerprints and does not slip from hands. It feels soft to touch and is nicely finished. It gets a small and round speaker mesh which comes with a loud and clear audio quality. The rear also gets a 5MP auto-focus camera with flash and full HD video recording capability.
The front of the phone gets a 2 MP camera, a round speaker earpiece which looks similar to what we see on Google Nexus 5.
The Android buttons on the Google Android one are on the screen and not on bezel.
In terms of build quality, the phone feels solid and sturdy. It is nice designed with rounded edges and feel premium in hand. The display size and quality is pretty good, the size of the phone is handy and easy to hold and pocket.

Display size is 4.5 inches or 11.3 cm and does get a FWVGA display with a resolution of 480×854 pixels. The display does pixelate if you look very closely, but in general usage, you will not find it much pixelated. The PPI density on the Google Android One is 217ppi.
The viewing angles are also pretty decent as its an IPS display, there are 10 touch points on the display and gives pretty good touch response.

The rear camera of 5 MP with auto-focus and latest Google Camera app is fairly good in performance.
It does click decent pictures and does record full HD videos as well. There are also Lens Blur mode, which gives you nice depth of field effect with background blur. There is also photo-sphere, panorama, camera timer, HDR and other features available.
There are elaborate camera settings in the software features of the camera of the Android One.
The front facing 2 MP camera is also pretty capable and can also record 720p videos.

When it comes to gaming, Android One series phone are moderate at best. The CPU is well equipped to handle heavy apps and games, but the GPU is a bit weak. Battery life on Google Android One is usually enough for moderate users. Since the display size and resolution is mediocre, so is the CPU performance. Also the super optimized latest Android software on Android One series helps to reduce battery drain. However for gaming, video consumption and heavy users, it may not last full day.
