Price and Availability
The Sony Xperia XZ1 is priced $700 (approx Rs 45,000). Shipping starts from this month. While LG has not revealed the price of the new handset, it will go on sale in South Korea on September 21. It is also expected to bear a similar price tag. As of now, there isn’t any confirmation about an Indian launch and price of the new smartphones.

Both Sony Xperia XZ1 and LG V30 are powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor and 4GB RAM. Both flagships devices come with 64GB internal storage which can be further expanded via a microSD card.
Camera
The dual camera setup on the LG V30 uses a 16-megapixel sensor with f/1.6 aperture, 71-degree wide-angle lens and a 13-megapixel sensor with a 120-degree wide-angle lens and f/1.9 aperture. The wide aperture and ‘Crystal Clear Lens’ allows you to capture more light, and sharper pictures. Other features include laser detection autofocus, optical image stabilization (OIS) and electronic image stabilization (EIS). The 5-megapixel front camera comes with a f/2.2 aperture and 90-degrees wide-angle lens.
On the other hand, the Sony Xperia XZ1 features a Motion Eye 19-megapixel Exmor RS sensor camera with 3D scanning abilities as its USP. Other features include 5-axis stabilization, slow-motion video recording at 960fps, and 4K video recording. The 13-megapixel front camera comes with Sony’s Exmor RS mobile imaging sensor, f/2.0 aperture and 22mm wide-angle lens.

Features
The LG V30 comes with a 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC powered by Bang & Olufsen along with Master Quality Authenticated (MQA) technology for high-resolution audio streaming. Other features include voice commands, facial recognition technology, IP68 certification (water and dust resistance), and MIL-STD 810G rating (for durability).
The Sony Xperia XZ1 also comes with special audio features like digital noise cancellation, S-Force surround sound, stereo recording, Hi-Res Audio, and Qualcomm’s own aptX audio software. Other features include a fingerprint scanner, Quick Charge 3.0 technology, and IP68 certification (water and dust resistant). It also runs Android 8.0 Oreo operating system out-of-the-box.
Design and Display
The LG V30 features a 6-inch OLED FullVision Always-on display with QHD+ (1440 x 2880 pixels) resolution, 538ppi, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The screen almost covers the entire front of the device. Meanwhile, the Sony Xperia XZ1 features a 5.2-inch display with full HD resolution and HDR (High Dynamic Range) ready.
In terms of design, both handsets look quite stylish. The LG V30 measures 151.7 x 75.4 x 7.3mm and weighs 158 grams. The Sony Xperia XZ1 comes with similar dimensions. It measures 148 x 73 x 7.4mm and weighs 156 grams.

Both smartphones offer a great combination of specifications and features. Both devices look identical in terms of performance and offer unique camera setups. While the Xperia XZ1 comes with a better front camera, the LG V30 has a larger battery. While the LG V30 sports a larger and better display, the Xperia XZ1 is better suited for people looking for a flagship with small form factor.
