Sony has announced its second generation SmartBand- Sony SmartBand 2. Besides the usual functions which most of the fitness trackers perform like notifying about calls, messages and e-mails through vibration and LED lights, it also tracks heart rate, movements, sleep and moments of calm and excitement of the users. The heart rate monitor embedded on device provides users with insights on their health and stress levels.
On a single charge, it is good enough to deliver up to 2 days of battery life. The SnartBand 2 is compatible with Android (running 4.4 KitKat or higher) and iOS (running iOS 8.2 or higher) devices.
The wearable flaunts its water resistant IP68 certification. It comes with cap less Micro-USB port, yet it can survive in water up to 3 metre of depth. There are 3 colored LED lights which change depending on the notification type. The wearable can also be used to play, pause or skip music tracks playing on synced smartphone or tablet.
The SmartBand 2 tracks pulse and stress level letting users know how their energy rises and falls.
