The next Sony camera flagship has been launched in India and it is the Sony RX1. It was launched at PhotoKina 2012 first and then the countries starting receiving it. Sony has launched the RX1 camera at a price of Rs.1,79,990. It is pretty much a product that gives you the sheer joy of photography for the price you pay for it so even though it may look steep to some, it is not that steep.
The Sony RX1’s USP is that it is the first point and shoot camera to pack in a 35mm full-frame 24.3- megapixel sensor with a wide f/2.0 aperture fixed-focal lens. The sensor found in the RX1 is 2.3 times than most of the APS-C sensors in you’ll find on most DSLR cameras and is 7.3 times bigger than their own RX100 point and shoot camera.
It comes with a f/2.0 aperture with an ISO setting which can go up to an eye-opening 25,600 and the video shooting can be done at 1080p video at 60fps or at the rate of 24fps. And the list goes on and on. The Sony RX1 comes with a full-frame DSLR like picture quality, a unified lens/body design and full manual control for the photo-buffs.
The RX1 id not being sold alone and as Sony likes to offer a plethora of accessories with its devices, they made sure this one got the right accessories too. Sony has on accessories like an optical viewfinder, an electronic viewfinder and a lockable thumb grip. But don’t get your hopes too high as these are offered as optional accessories and are not there in the retail package. So, would you buy it?
