The Sharp Aquos S2 is priced at 2488 Yuan (approx Rs 23,750) for the entry-level, while the high-end variant will be available at 3499 Yuan (approx Rs 33,233). Both models will be available from August 14. As of now, Sharp Aquos S2 is limited to the Chinese smartphone market. There is no information about an Indian launch or price.

The Sharp Aquos S2 comes in two variants. The low-end model is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor along with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. While the high-end model comes with a Snapdragon 660 chipset, 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. The internal storage can be further expanded on both models via a microSD card slot.
The Sharp Aquos S2 features a 5.5-inch IPS LCD display with Sharp’s Free Form Display (FFD) technology and a resolution of 2040 x 1080 pixels. On the camera front, the new smartphone sports a dual camera setup (12-megapixel sensor + 8-megapixel secondary sensor) with a dual-LED flash and 4K video recording capability. There is also an 8-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calling. It is backed by a 3,020mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support.

The Sharp Aquos S2 features extremely thin bezels as its USP. It sports an edgeless display with an 87.5 per cent screen-to-body ratio. The tri-bezel design features regular bezel at the bottom. It comes in White, Black, Blue, and Green colour options.
The new smartphone runs Android 7.1 Nougat operating system with Sharp’s own SmileUX on top. It also features ‘world’s narrowest fingerprint scanner’ which is only 3.6mm thick.

Conclusion
The mid-range handset comes with a decent combination of features like extremely thin bezels, fingerprint scanner and dual cameras. The Sharp Aquos S2 is an attractive proposition. We will have to wait and see how it performs in the real-world situations when it hits Indian shores.
