Samsung has launched its latest smartphone Samsung Z1 based on Tizen platform. This smartphone was launched in India at an event on January 14, 2015. The highlight of this smartphone is its Tizen 2.3 operating system. Processor
The Samsung Z1 is powered by 1.2 GHz Dual-Core Spreadtrum SC7727S Cortex-A7 processor with Mali 400 GPU coupled with 768 MB of RAM. Xiaomi Redmi 1S and Android One both are powered by Quad-Core processors where Redmi 1S is clocked at 1.6 GHz while Android One is clocked at 1.3 GHz, both paired with 1 GB of RAM.
Operating System
Xiaomi Redmi 1S and Android One both run on Android operating system. The former smartphone runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with MIUI on its top while the latter runs on Android 4.4 KitKat operating system. The latest Samsung Z1 smartphone runs on new Tizen 2.3 operating system and delivers quick and easy access of apps to the users. Tizen operating system also offers free entertainment package named ‘Joy Box’ to access music, movies and more. It also offers premium content to users on Club Samsung.

On imaging front again, Xiaomi Redmi Note has an edge over other two smartphones with 8 mega pixel Auto Focus rear camera with LED Flash and 1.6 mega pixel front facing camera. The Samsung Z1 comes with a 3.1 mega pixel primary camera while there is a VGA front facing camera as well on board. Android One sports a 5 mega pixel rear camera and a 2 mega pixel secondary camera.
Samsung Z1 entails 4 GB of in-built storage which is expandable up to 64 GB via microSD card. Redmi 1S houses an 8 GB storage, Android One entails 4 GB of in-built storage while both are expandable up to 32 GB via microSD card.
Battery and Connectivity
Redmi 1S packs the most powerful 2000 mAh battery followed by Android One which is fueled by 1700 mAh battery and lastly the Samsung Z1 which sports 1500 mAh battery with Ultra Power Saving Mode.
On connectivity front, all the smartphones support Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and USB options.
Price
Coming to the price of these three smartphones, the Xiaomi Redmi 1S is priced highest of all with a price tag of Rs. 5,999 and is available only through e-commerce website. The Android One smartphone is priced at Rs. 5,499 while the Tizen based Samsung Z1 comes with a price tag of Rs. 5,700 and offers whole new experience to the users with its attractive features and Tizen operating system.
Verdict
Samsung Z1 comes with the new Tizen operating system and offers a wide range of attractive features at a lower price of Rs. 5,700 as compared to Rs. 5,999 price of Xiaomi Redmi 1S. Xiaomi Redmi 1S apparently, offers better features like good camera, larger display but it comes at a higher price. The Android One with Android One platform, is priced lowest among the three smartphones. Thus, with new operating system and affordable price Samsung Z1 is designed to offer value for money to the users.
