Samsung India has launched the Samsung Z1 Tizen phone in India at a launch event in New Delhi India on 14th January 2014. The phone has been launched at an aggressive price to counter the strong competition in the entry level smartphone market. The phone runs Tizen OS which is Samsung own smartphone OS. In terms of hardware, the phone is a Dual SIM phone and has a 4 inch display with display resolution of 480×800 pixels. In terms of CPU, it runs a 1.2 GHz dual core CPU and 4 GB of internal memory. It also comes with expandable memory support via 64 GB microSD card. It has a 3 Megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a front facing VGA camera.

The phone has been launched at Rs. 5700 (USD $90) and goes on sale from 14th January 2015 in India in 3 colours- black, white and wine red. Users on Reliance Communications and Aircel will get free 500 MB 3G every month data for 6 months. It also bundles free contest from Hungama, Box TV and nexGTV is around Rs. 1700.
