Samsung has launched its Oculus powered Samsung Gear VR headset alongside Gear S2 smartwatch in the Indian market.
The device converts multimedia content, ranging from games or videos into a virtual reality experience. It allows users to enjoy 2D/3D contents, play VR games as well as explore tourist attractions with 360-degree panoramic view. The device is compatible with a number of Samsung smartphones including Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6 Edge+, S6 and S6 Edge.
Compared to the previous version, the new version of Gear VR is 19 percent lighter and also features foam cushioning for more comfort. It also gives greater control to users with its refreshed touchpad. The device comes with gyrometer, accelerator and proximity sensors. It measures 201.9 x 116.4 x 92.6 mm, weighs 318 grams and will be available in Frost White color option.

Priced at Rs. 8,200, the Samsung Gear VR headset will be available to buy from all Samsung retail channels including its online partner Flipkart.
Recently, Lenovo also launched its ANT VR headset in India for Rs. 1,299. While the highlight of the device is its TheaterMax technology, it comes with Aspherical lens and view angle of 100 degree. The ANT VR measures 16 x 6.1 x 10.4 cm and weighs 160 grams. It supports all new Lenovo smartphones with screen size ranging from 5-6-inches. The device can be controlled by Bluetooth controller or earphone.
