Samsung has expanded its rugged smartphone portfolio with the launch of Samsung Galaxy Xcover 4. Under the hood, it packs a 1.4GHz quad-core Exynos 7570 (14nm) processor coupled with Mali-T720 GPU. Running Android 7.0 Nougat operating system, it features a 4.99-inch HD display with 1280×720 pixels resolution.
The Galaxy Xcover 4 houses 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory with expandable storage support via microSD card. The smartphone sports a 13 mega pixel rear camera with LED flash and f/1.9 aperture. There is also a 5 mega pixel front facing camera for capturing selfies and making video calls. Equipped with a 2800mAh battery, the phone offers 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC and GPS as connectivity options.
The device features IP67 water and dust resistance. It comes with US Military Standard MIL-STD 810G and can withstand low or high temperatures, mechanical shocks and vibrations, intense sunlight or salt water mist. It is water resistant to a depth of 1.5 meters for up to 30 minutes and can withstand a fall of up to 1.2 meters. The display of phone can be used to make calls, write messages or use apps even with gloves on.

Price & Availability
The Samsung Galaxy Xcover 4 carries a price tag of 259 Euros (approximately Rs. 18,200) and will go on sale in Europe starting April 2017. There is no word yet on global roll out of the smartphone as of now.
