Samsung has finally launched its latest smartwatch in India. The Samsung Galaxy Watch was initially unveiled alongside the Galaxy Note 9 in New York last month. The Samsung Galaxy Watch is priced in India at Rs 24,990 for the 42mm variant (Bluetooth-only). The 46mm model (Bluetooth-only) comes with a price tag of Rs 29,990. It will be available through authorized retail channels from mid-October. The LTE variants might be launched in the coming months.

Specifications and Features
The Samsung Galaxy Watch comes in two versions – one with a 42mm case and another with 46mm. While the former variant comes with 1.2-inch always-on Super AMOLED display and weighs 49g, the later model features a 1.3-inch always-on Super AMOLED display and weighs 63g. You can choose from two color options – Midnight Black and Rose Gold (for 42mm). The 46mm variant will be available with a Silver body.
The 46mm comes with Onyx Black, Deep Ocean Blue, Basalt Grey options for interchangeable straps. Whereas the 42mm variant comes with Onyx Black, Lunar Grey, Terracotta Red, Lime Yellow, Cosmo Purple, Pink Beige, Cloud Grey, and Natural Brown color straps.
Both Samsung Galaxy Watch variants are powered by a 1.15GHz dual-core Samsung Exynos 9110 processor and 4GB internal storage. While the LTE variants come with 1.5GB RAM, the Bluetooth variants feature 768MB RAM. Both bear 4GB of inbuilt storage. Connectivity options include 3G/LTE, Bluetooth v4.2, Wi-Fi b/g/n, NFC, and A-GPS.
“The new Galaxy Watch was designed for all lifestyles to help meet consumer needs, such as more efficient battery life to stay connected longer, and better wellness tracking to help users maintain their goals – we are delivering them with connected experiences, all at the touch of a wrist,” said DJ Koh, President and CEO of IT & Mobile Communications Division, Samsung Electronics.
The new smartwatch comes with multiple fitness features. It comes with 39 workouts including 21 new indoor exercises. Samsung claims that the new wearable can detect high-stress levels automatically and offers breathing exercises to relax the wearer. Sensors on board include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, barometer, gyroscope, and heart rate monitor.
The Sleep tracking system can measure four levels of sleep including REM sleep. The watch is water-resistant to 5 ATMs (164 feet or 50 meters). The battery can last up to a full seven days (with always on display). It supports WPC-based wireless charging.
The new smartwatch runs Tizen OS and is compatible with devices running Android 5.0 or later/ iOS 9.0 and later. It can also connect with SmartThings (Samsung’s smart home platform). This allows you to turn on lights or the TV, control the heating, etc.
