Samsung has launched its latest tablet, called the Samsung Galaxy Tab Iris, in India. Highlight of this tablet is its iris scanner which is Aadhar, STQC and UIDAI certified. The Tab Iris is a part of company’s Made in India’ initiative and aims to support government benefit programs, financial institutions and banking sector among others, that are adopting Aadhaar authentication. The Galaxy Tab Iris aims to provide cashless and paperless services in applications such as banking and e-governance services such as passport, taxation, healthcare, and education. Under the hood, it is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor paired with 1.5GB of RAM. It runs Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system and features a 7-inch WSVGA display with 1024×600 pixels resolution.
On camera front, it features a 5 mega pixel auto focus rear camera. The tablet houses 8GB of internal memory which cane be expanded up to 200GB via microSD card. The Galaxy Tab Iris is backed up by a 3600mAh battery, measures 193.4×116.4×9.7 mm in dimensions and weighs 327 grams. Connectivity options include 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth.
