Samsung Galaxy S6 & Galaxy S6 Edge Now Up For Sale In India

Samsung launched its flagship smartphones Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge in India in March 2015. Both handsets were up for pre-orders through online  retailers like Flipkart, Snapdeal and Amazon India while they are now available for sale can be grabbed at price starting at Rs. 49,900. Based on storage, both devices will be available in three variants- 64 GB, 32 GB and 128 GB. Read on to find detailed information on specifications, features and price of the handsets.

Samsung has finally launched its flagship phone Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge in the Indian market. Pre-bookings for both the handsets start today while they will go on sale starting 10th April 2015. Pricing details of devices are as follows: Samsung Galaxy S6 will retail at Rs. 49,900 (32 GB), Rs. 55,900 (64 GB) and Rs. 61,900 (128 GB). The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge is priced at Rs. 58,900 (32 GB), Rs. 64,900 (64 GB) and Rs. 70,900 (128 GB).

Samsung is gearing up to launch its two top-notch devices, Samsung Galaxy S6 & Galaxy S6 Edge in the Indian market and has started sending out invites for the event which is scheduled on March 23, 2015. The flagship handsets were showcased at MWC 2015 earlier this month. There is no word on pricing of the handsets for the Indian market as of now however more information is likely to surface at the launch event. Samsung has finally taken the wraps off its much anticipated smartphones Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge at MWC 2015 event. The flagship Galaxy S6, as well as the S6 Edge, unlike the plastic body of previous flagships, feature an attractive body made of Gorilla Glass 4 and metal. The Galaxy Edge as the name suggests, sports a dual edge display.

As for the specifications, both the S6 devices feature a 5.1 inch QHD Super AMOLED display with 1440 x 2560 pixels resolution and 577 ppi pixel density while the latter sports curved display on both left and right edges. Both phones are powered by 64-bit 2.1 GHz Exynos Octa-core processor coupled with 3 GB of RAM and run on Android 5.0.2 Lollipop with TouchWiz UX on the top.

On imaging front, there is a 16 mega pixel on the rear with optical image stabilization and a 5 mega pixel camera on the front. Besides tracking AF, auto real-time HDR, f/1.9, IR detect white balance, low light video, high clear zoom, virtual shot, slow motion, fast motion, pro mode, and selective focus, camera features also include “Quick Launch” which allows the user to access camera from any screen within 0.7 seconds by double clicking home button.

Based on storage, the handsets will be available in 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB variants. Galaxy S6 packs a 2550 mAh battery while S6 Edge comes fueled with a 2600 mAh battery, both featuring wireless charging support.
