Samsung has launched a new Olympic Edition of its Galaxy S10+ smartphone (in partnership with telecom operator NTT Docomo). The new handset is based on its Prism White variant. Samsung is offering the Galaxy S10+ Olympic Games Edition at JPY 1,14,696 (approx Rs 73,300) with a 36-month contract with monthly instalments JPY 3,186 (approx Rs 2,000). It is now exclusively available from Docomo’s online shop. There is no information about the Indian launch as yet.
In India, the Samsung Galaxy S10+ comes with a price tag of Rs 73,900 for the 8GB RAM/ 128GB storage model. While the 8GB RAM/ 512GB storage model costs Rs 91,900, the 12GB RAM/ 1TB storage variant will carry a price tag of Rs 1,17,900. Only the 128GB storage model comes with a Prism White color option.

The new handset is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 (based on the 7nm process) processor along with 8GB LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB internal storage (expandable up to 512GB). It comes with Vapor Chamber cooling system.
The Galaxy S10+ Olympic Games Edition sports the same rear camera set up as the Galaxy S10. However, it comes with a dual front camera which combines a 10-megapixel primary sensor (2PD autofocus, f/1.9 aperture, 80-degree lens) with an 8-megapixel secondary sensor (fixed focus RGB depth sensor, f/2.2 aperture, 90-degree lens).
The premium smartphone is backed by a 4,000mAh battery with Quick Charge 2.0 and Adaptive fast charging support. An Adaptive Power feature optimizes battery life based on user behavior.

The Samsung Galaxy S10+ Olympic Games Edition comes with an engraved Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 logo on the rear panel. Additionally, it features the logo of the carrier Docomo. The charging case of custom Galaxy Buds also feature the Tokyo Olympics logo on the lid.
The handset measures 157.6 x 74.1 x 7.8mm and weighs 175 grams. It features a larger 6.4-inch curved Dynamic AMOLED Infinity-O Display with QHD+ resolution, 19:9 aspect ratio, and a pixel density of 438ppi.
The Galaxy S10+ Olympic Games Edition sports an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor. Connectivity options on the smartphone include 4G VoLTE (LTE Cat. 20), Wi-Fi 802.11ax, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port.
The new smartphone runs Android 9.0 Pie OS (with the company’s One UI customization on top). The ‘AI-powered’ device also preloads commonly used apps and recommend Bixby routines based on usage.
Additional features include IP68-certification (dust and water resistance), fast wireless charging 2.0 (30 percent faster than the previous generation), wireless PowerShare (allows users to charge other Qi Wireless charging devices such as the new Galaxy Buds, Galaxy Watch Active, and compatible smartphones), and Dolby Atmos for gaming.
