South Korean tech giant Samsung has been rumored to reveal a lite variant of their Galaxy S8. The company has officially launched a new smartphone in China, and it is being called Samsung Galaxy S Light Luxury.
The Samsung Galaxy S Light Luxury seems to be a lite version of Galaxy S8. It has the same design, like a Bixby button and a fingerprint scanner.
The smartphone has been put on the company’s China website. The smartphone is equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660, and it runs Android Oreo.

The Samsung Galaxy S Light Luxury is being sold in Chinese online shopping website JD.com. It is priced at CNY 3,999. It is approximately Rs. 42,700. It is available in Black and Burgundy Red options.

The device is dual-SIM supported and runs Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box. It is built with a 5.8-inch full-HD+ (1080×2220 pixels) Infinity Display. The Galaxy S Light Luxury is powered by a Qualcomm quad-core processor, clocked up to 2.2GHz. It is backed with 4GB RAM.
In the camera department, the Samsung Galaxy S Light Luxury sports a 16-megapixel rear camera with f/1.8 aperture. It also has autofocus. The device also has an 8-megapixel selfie shooter at front. the rear camera can shoot videos at UHD 4K.
In the storage department, the handset is built with 64GB inbuilt storage. It is expandable up to 400GB via microSD card. In terms of connectivity, the handset supports 4G, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, GPS, NFC, Bluetooth v5.0, and USB Type-C, 3.5mm jack. Its sensors include Accelerometer, Barometer. It also has Fingerprint Sensor, Gyroscope, Geomagnetic Sensor etc. Furthermore, the smartphone is powered by a 3000mAh battery pack.
Other Developments
The company is also being rumored to be testing its Android Go smartphone. It is for four markets in the Indian sub-continent. The Samsung Android Go smartphone will use Google’s recently revealed Android Oreo (Go edition).
