With smartphone manufactures like Xiaomi and LG launching their flagship smartphones with USB Type-C port, Samsung doesn’t want to lag behind. Although Samsung launched its Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge smartphones with micro-USB port, it is likely to equip its upcoming phablet- Samsung Galaxy Note 6 with USB Type-C port. As per SamMobile, the Galaxy Note 6 will feature USB Type-C port, however, it is not know whether it would be an older version or the latest USB 3.1.
Samsung equipped Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge with micro-USB port which is compatible with the Gear VR. However, with the new USB Type-C port, the company is also expected to bring a new VR headset.

Samsung Galaxy Note 6 is still months ahead of its official launch and rumors about the phone have already started making rounds over the internet. As per the latest report, Samsung’s upcoming smartphone Galaxy Note 6 will feature a 5.8-inch Quad HD (2560×1440) display. Both curved and flat displays are being tested for the phone. It is however, expected to be launched in just one variant. To recall, the predecessors- Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy Note 4, feature a 5.7-inch Quad HD display.
As for chipset, the Samsung Galaxy Note 6 is being tested for two processors. Under the hood, it is said to be powered by either Exynos 8890 or Snapdragon 823 processor, paired with 6GB of RAM. In camera department, the phone is rumored to sport a 12 mega pixel dual pixel rear camera like the one present in Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge flagship smartphones, but with improved software.
On software front, it is likely to run upcoming Android N version. It is also rumored to house 32GB of internal memory. There is no word on battery capacity of the device but it is expected to be backed up by a 4000mAh battery, in contrast to 3000mAh and 3220mAh batteries of Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy Note 4 respectively. It is also expected to come with an iris scanner, in addition to a fingerprint sensor, for additional security.
This information should be taken with a pinch of salt as Samsung has not officially confirmed any of the details mentioned above.
