Samsung Galaxy J5 Prime Launched In India: Price, Specs & Features

Alongside Galaxy J7 Prime, Samsung has launched its Samsung Galaxy J5 Prime smartphone in India. It is an upgraded variant of the Galaxy J5 2016 which was launched earlier in 2016. The Prime variant packs similar set of specifications as the original Galaxy J5 2016, except a few differences. The new variant comes with more expandable storage, less battery capacity and a fingerprint sensor.

Under the hood, the Galaxy J5 Prime packs a quad-core Exynos processor paired with 2GB of RAM. Running Android Marshmallow operating system, it features a 5-inch HD display with 1280×720 pixels resolution. The phone houses 16GB of internal memory and supports expandable storage up to 256GB via microSD card. On the camera front, it sports a 13 mega pixel primary camera and a 5 mega pixel front facing camera.

It is backed up by a 2400mAh battery which is considerably smaller than the 3100mAh battery of the older sibling. Connectivity options which the dual SIM phone offers, include 4G with VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. It comes with a fingerprint embedded into the home button for additional security.

The Galaxy J5 Prime comes with some interesting features like S Power Planning and S Secure. The S Power planning feature allows users to reserve the battery when the battery is running low by choosing Ultra Power Saving mode or forward calls to another number. The S Secure feature allows users to lock and hide the apps with confidential data.
