Samsung has introduced a new budget smartphone, called the Samsung Galaxy J1 (2016), in Russia. The handset is listed on company’s website without pricing and availability details.
As for specifications, the Galaxy J1 (2016) is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core Exynos 3475 processor paired with Mali T-720 GPU and 1GB of RAM. The phone runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system and features a 4.5-inch Super AMOLED display with 800×480 pixels resolution. For storage purpose, it houses 8GB of inbuilt memory with expandable support via microSD card.
On camera front, the handset sports a 5 mega pixel auto focus rear camera with LED flash and a 2 mega pixel front facing camera. Backed up by a 2050mAh battery, the Galaxy J1 (2016) measures 1132.6×69.3×8.9 mm in dimensions and weighs 131 grams. It offers 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS as connectivity options. It is an affordable smartphone with entry level specs and 4G support.
The predecessor, Samsung Galaxy J1, on the other hand, comes with 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 512MB RAM, Android 4.4 KitKat operating system, 4.3 inch WVGA TFT (480×800 pixels resolution) display, 4GB internal storage (expandable up to 128 GB via microSD card), 5 mega pixel auto focus rear camera with LED flash, 2 mega pixel front camera and 1850mAh battery.

There is no word on pricing and availability details of the Samsung Galaxy J1 (2016) on company’s website. As per the previous reports, however, it will be priced at AED 499 (approximately Rs. 9,000) in Dubai. Samsung is yet to make an official announcement about the same.
