Samung has launched its new smartphone Galaxy Grand Max in India. The device is priced at Rs. 15,990 and it is available exclusively through e-commerce portal Snapdeal. Processor & RAM
All the three handsets are powered by Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset clocked at 1.2 GHz. Galaxy Grand Max and HTC Desire 820q feature Snapdragon 410 coupled with 1.5 GB and 1 GB of RAM respectively while LG G3 Beat features Snapdragon 400 chipset coupled with 1 GB of RAM.
Operating System & Display
Again all three phones run Android 4.4 KitKat operating system. Desire 820q comes with HTC Sense 6 UI on top of its operating system.
HTC Desire 820q features the largest 5.5 inch display, followed by Samsung Galaxy Grand Max with 5.25 inch display and G3 Beat with 5 inch display. Screen resolution of all devices is 1280 x 720 pixels.
Camera & Storage
On front camera front, Galaxy Grand Max and Desire 820q sport a 13 mega pixel auto focus rear camera with LED flash. LG G3 Beat sports an 8 mega pixel primary camera with OIS+ and Laser auto focus. Furthermore, HTC Desire 820q sports an 8 mega pixel front facing camera, Grand Max features a 5 mega pixel secondary camera and LG G3 Beat sports a 1.3 mega pixel front camera.
In-built storage of all devices is 16 GB. Grand Max comes with microSD slot for expandable storage up to 64 GB, G3 Beat with 32 GB and Desire 820q with expandable storage of up to 128 GB.
Battery & Connectivity
HTC Desire 820q packs largest 2600 mAh battery, LG G3 Beat packs a 2540 mAh battery while Galaxy Grand Max is fueled by 2500 mAh battery.
One of the striking feature of LG G3 Beat and Desire 820q is their 4G LTE support, while Galaxy Grand Max does not support 4G LTE. Besides, other connectivity options on the devices include Wi-Fi and Bluetooth options.
Price
LG G3 Beat bears the lowest price tag of Rs. 14,999. Samsung Galaxy Grand Max is priced slightly higher at Rs. 15,990. HTC Desire 820Q is priced highest at Rs. 18,394.
Verdict
The newly launched Galaxy Grand Max is slim and powerful phone which flaunts its rich configuration and delivers seamless performance. However it seems Samsung Grand Max will have tough time competing with its rivals. All the three mid ranged phablets compared above feature decent specs. LG G3 Beat is priced lowest, yet it lags behind the other two handsets in display size, camera and expandable storage. HTC Desire 820q looks more competent but it bears a higher price tag. Let’s see if Samsung’s new phablet Galaxy Grand Max helps company continue to steal customers from its rivals or not.
