Samsung India has launched the Samsung Galaxy smart Camera in India at a price tag of Rs. 29,900 which is less than what we expected. The Galaxy Camera is a new breed of smart cameras in the world and India is one of the first 5 markets of the world where its being launched commercially. This camera runs Android Operating system which is used on millions of mobile phones around the world. The Galaxy Camera comes pre-loaded with one of the latest versions (4.1) Jelly Bean of the Android OS.

Samsung Galaxy Camera EX-GC100 offers a vibrant 4.8 inch Super LCD touch screen display with high definition playback. It runs using powerful quad-core 1.4 Ghz Exynos processor and also supports 3G and 4G LTE networks along with WiFi, it accommodates a micro-SIM which makes it ready to shoot, share and backup on the go without bothering to connect it to a computer. It does not support calling, but it does support messaging on the device.
It has a 16 Megapixel sensor with 21x Optical Zoom, on the downside, it does not support the full size SD cards, but does support the microSD or microSDHC cards. It can shoot videos in 1080p full HD resolution.
It really provides a full connectivity on the go with its 3G support, and with the use of Android Apps, the pictures clicked from this camera can be instantly shares and saved or uploaded on the go which is one of its kind capability. It does not need to be connected to a computer to share and upload pictures and videos. It has an android based computer of its own which makes it a really different camera.
It has a large and bright touch screen interface which makes using this camera quite easy for beginner users as well. It combines the goodness of Android along with the capability of a high quality camera which can shoot in near-professional quality with wide angle (23mm) lens. Also editing of pictures and videos is also possible on the camera itself. To power all these capabilities, it uses a 1.4 GHz quad-core (4 cores) processor,1 GB RAM, 400 Mhz GPU, HDMI port, USB port, GPS support, 3G, WiFi, 1650 mAh battery. It does offer most of the capabilities of a smartphone including gaming, emails, data transfer, video playback, audio playback etc. except voice calling features.
To make the deal even sweeter, Samsung has tied up with Airtel to offer 1GB free data for first two months along with the Samsung Galaxy Camera. At a price of under Rs. 30,000, it is expected to attract many buyers in India who are looking for a feature loaded camera. A spare battery and charging adapter will also be offered by Samsung for free for some initial units.
