Samsung launched its Galaxy A8 smartphone last year, in August 2015. Now the company has launched its successor, called the Samsung Galaxy A8 2016 in its home market, South Korea. Read on to find details on price, specifications, features and availability of the phone.

On aesthetics front, the Galaxy A8 2016 flaunts its all metal body. On the front, it features a 5.7-inch full HD always on Super AMOLED display with 1920×1080 pixels resolution. Under the hood, it packs an octa-core (quad 2.1GHz + quad 1.5GHz) Exynos 7420 processor paired with Mali-T760 GPU. It runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system wrapped under new Grace UX.

For photography lovers, it sports a 16 mega pixel primary camera with LED flash and an 8 mega pixel front facing camera. The phone packs a 3300mAh battery and offers 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS as connectivity options. It measures 156.6×76.8×7.2 mm and weighs 182 grams. There is also a fingerprint sensor integrated into the home button for additional security.

The predecessor- Samsung Galaxy A8 2015 packs similar specifications as the 2016 version, except a few differences. The Galaxy A8 2015 comes with an octa-core Exynos 5430 processor, Mali T628 GPU, 2GB of RAM and 5.7-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display. It sports a 5 mega pixel front camera and is fueled by a 3050mAh battery.

Price & Availability

The Samsung Galaxy A8 2016 carries a price tag of KRW 649,000 (approximately Rs. 39,200). It will be up for pre-orders in South Korea starting October 1, via SK Telecom. It comes in Blue, Pink and Grey color options. There is no word yet on global roll out of the phone.
