Samsung has launched its Galaxy A7 smartphone in India, priced at Rs. 30,499. The Galaxy A7 has been launched right one month after the launch of Galaxy A and E series phones in India. Galaxy A7 flaunts its premium looks and aesthetically elegant design, apart from its high-end specs.. Design & Display
The Galaxy A7 is elegantly designed and flaunts its metal cladding. The Gionee S5.5 which once held the title of world’s slimmest smartphone is based on metal and glass design. The HTC One M8 on the other hand boasts of its single block metal design which offers premium feel to the users.
Galaxy A7 sports the largest 5.5 inch full HD Super AMOLED display while the other two handsets feature 5.0 inch display. The Samsung A7 comes with Gorilla Glass 4 protection and other two smartphones feature Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The display resolution of all devices is 1080 x 1920 pixels while pixel density of Galaxy A7 is 401 ppi as compared to the 441 ppi pixel density of other two handsets.
Processor & RAM
Galaxy A7 is powered by Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor (Quad-core 1.7 GHz Cortex-A53 & quad-core 1.0 GHz Cortex-A53), Gionee Elife S5.5 comes backed up with Octa-core MediaTek processor clocked at 1.7 GHz while HTC One M8 is powered by Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset clocked at 2.3 GHz, all accompanied with 2 GB of RAM delivering seamless performance to the users.
Operating System
All the three handsets are Android powered. Galaxy A7 and HTC One M8 run on Android 4.4 KitKat with TouchWiz UI and HTC Sense UI 6 on top respectively while Gionee S5.5 runs on rather outdated Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system with Amigo OS 2.0 on top.
Camera & Storage
Samsung A7 and Gionee Elife S5.5 sport a 13 mega pixel auto focus rear camera with LED flash. HTC One M8 on the other hand comes with dual 4 mega pixel (ultrapixel) auto focus rear camera with dual LED flash. The front camera on each handset is 5 mega pixel.

Samsung A7 and HTC One M8 are fueled by 2600 mAh battery. Elife S5.5 on the other hand packs a 2300 mAh battery.
Gionee S5.5 is the lightest and sleekest of all with 133 grams weight and 5.5 mm thickness followed by Galaxy A7 with 6.3 mm thickness and 141 grams weights. HTC One M8 measures 9.4 mm in thickness and weighs 160 grams.
Price
There is a huge gap between the pricing of these handsets. The Gionee Elife S5.5 is priced lowest at Rs. 21,100 followed by Samsung Galaxy A7, which is priced at Rs. 30,400. HTC One M8 bears the highest price tag of Rs. 38, 363.
Verdict
Although the devices bear nearly similar and high-end specs, yet there is higher difference in their price tags. Gionee S5.5 is priced lower than Galaxy A7 but it lags behind in few fronts like non-expandable storage, smaller display and lesser battery. The HTC One M8 on the other hand features more expandable storage, ultrapixel camera but is available at a much higher cost. All the devices flaunt their premium looks and rich configuration, giving tough competition to each other, yet if you want to go for the brand name as well as high end specs, Galaxy A7 will be the right choice for you in this price range!
