The Samsung Galaxy A Quantum is touted to be the world’s smallest quantum random number generator (QRNG) chipset. It enhances data security on the handset.
The QRNG chipset generates unpredictable and patternless random numbers that allow users to safely use services like authentication and payments. The smartphone generates encryption keys based on the random numbers.

Samsung has collaborated with SK Telecom for the new smartphone with a quantum encryption technology.
“All services go through an encryption-decryption process when data is stored or exchanged, and an encryption key is essential,” SK Telecom said in a post.
Additionally, the CMOS image sensor detects light (photons) emitted by LED to generate unpredictable random numbers. These random numbers are used to protect user’s personal information.
