Ringing Bells has launched the Ringing Bells Freedom 251 smartphone in India. What makes this phone stand out from the crowd is its price tag. Touted as the ‘cheapest smartphone in India’, the Freedom 251 carries a price tag of Rs. 251.
The company says that the launch of the new smartphone is in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for “empowering India to the last person, transforming India’s growth story”. It comes pre-loaded with apps such as Women Safety, Swachh Bharat, Fishermen, Farmer, Medical and more.
As for specifications, it is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. Running Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system, it features a 4-inch qHD IPS display with 960×540 pixels resolution. On imaging front, it sports a 3.2 mega pixel rear camera and a 0.3 mega pixel front facing camera.
The phone houses 8GB of internal memory which is expandable up to 32GB via microSD card. Backed up by a 1450mAh battery, it offers 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS as connectivity options.
