Redmi 9 is expected to be launched in the first quarter of 2020. There is no information about its price as yet.
The Redmi 8 is priced in India at Rs 7,999 for the 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage variant. The 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage model comes with a price tag of Rs 8,999.

As per recent leaks and reports, the upcoming handset will be powered by a MediaTek Helio G70 processor (yet-to-be-announced) along with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage.
The Redmi 9 is tipped to feature a dual-camera setup on the back. On the front, it is said to sport a 6.6-inch display with a waterdrop notch at the top.

The Redmi 8 is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 processor and up to 4GB RAM. The internal storage can be further expanded via a microSD card (up to 512GB).
The 5,000mAh battery comes with multiple AI optimizations. It supports 18W fast charging. A 10W charger is included in the retail box.
The new smartphone sports a dual-camera setup at the back. It includes a 12MP Sony IMX363 primary sensor (f/1.8 aperture) and a 2MP depth sensor.
Camera features include AI Portrait and AI Scene Detection (recognizes 33 scene categories, including six India-specific categories).
For selfies and video calling, the Redmi 8 an 8-megapixel front camera with artificial intelligence (AI) powered features. It also supports the Face Unlock feature.
The Redmi 8 features a 6.22-inch HD+ Dot Notch display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It also has splash-resistant P2i coating on top. A fingerprint sensor is placed at the back.
