The Redmi Note 9S is priced at RM 799 (approx Rs 13,700) for the 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage variant. The 6GB RAM/ 128GB storage model comes with a price tag of RM 899 (approx Rs 15,000).
Sales will start in Thailand and Singapore later this month. It will be available in Malaysia from Lazada and Shoppee later this month.
In other countries, you can purchase the new handset from April 7 via AliExpress at a starting price of $249 (approx Rs 19,000).

The new smartphone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G processor (8nm) along with up to 6GB of RAM.
The Redmi Note 9S is backed by a 5.020mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. The 128GB internal storage can be further expanded via a micro SD card (up to 512GB).
Cameras
On the back, the handset sports a quad rear camera setup with a 48MP primary sensor (f/1.79 aperture). It also features an 8MP wide-angle lens (119-degree field of view), a 5MP macro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor.
For selfies and video calling, the Redmi Note 9S sports a 16MP front camera. Camera features include panorama selfie mode and AI scene detection.

The Redmi Note 9S runs the Android 10 OS with MIUI 11 custom skin on top. A fingerprint sensor is placed on the back.
Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, NavIC, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The dual-SIM smartphone features a 6.67-inch display with full-HD+ (1080 x 2400) resolution, a 20:9 aspect ratio, and a 91 percent screen-to-body ratio.
The HDR10 display features 450 nits of peak brightness and Gorilla Glass 5 protection on top. It also sports a centrally-positioned hole-punch for the selfie camera.
The new handset sports a splash-resistant build too. It comes in Aurora Blue, Glacier White, and Interstellar Grey color options.

The Redmi Note 9S is essentially a new version of the Redmi Note 9 Pro (launched in India earlier this month).
Xiaomi has also launched the Mi Smart Compact Projector with 1080p resolution and 500 ANSI lumen brightness output.
Additionally, the Mi Handheld Vaccum Cleaner 1C has been launched at EUR 199 (approx Rs 16,000). It offers a 5-step filtration process and a 120 AW suction system.
